Free for text secrets. Paid when your team needs files, longer links or more people.
Every plan sends one-time links and secret requests, and every plan gets the team controls. You pay for capacity: more secrets a month, more members, more views per link, longer expiry and file attachments.

Every limit, side by side
Limits belong to the organisation, not to each person in it. Links you’ve already sent keep the limits they were created with.

Included on every plan
What every plan includes

Share
- One-time linksOpened a set number of times, then deleted. Burn one early if plans change.
- PasscodesA second secret, sent another way. Five wrong tries destroy the link.
- Email recipientsSend to up to 10 people, and make it open only for them.
Request and control
- Secret requestsAsk for a credential with a one-time form instead of a reply.
- RolesOwners, admins, members and viewers in one organisation.
- Enforced policiesCap expiry and views and require passcodes for everyone.
Sign-in and records
- Audit logWho created, emailed, opened and burned what, and when.
- Two-factor authenticationAuthenticator apps and backup codes, required org-wide if you like.
- Single sign-onMicrosoft Entra ID over OIDC on your verified domains.
- API v2Scoped, organisation-bound keys for scripts and CI.
The one exception is exporting the audit log to CSV, which comes with Professional and Enterprise.
Questions
Billing questions, answered
These come from how billing works in the app. If yours isn’t here, email us.
Trial and limits
Is there a free trial?
New accounts start with a 14-day trial of Standard, so you can try it with your team before deciding. When the trial ends you move to Free unless you subscribe. File secrets need an active paid subscription, so they aren’t part of the trial.
Do I need an account to send a secret?
No. You can send a one-off secret without signing up, up to two a day. Anonymous links get the Free plan’s limits: one view and up to 7 days.
When does my monthly secret count reset?
At the start of each billing period. On a paid plan, that’s the date your subscription renews. On Free, it’s the first of each calendar month (UTC). During the trial, the count runs from the day the trial started.
What counts as a secret?
Each secret you create, text or file, counts once, however many people it’s emailed to. A secret someone sends you by filling in your request also counts towards your organisation’s total.
What happens when we reach the limit?
You can’t create new secrets until the count resets or you upgrade, and the app tells you so. Links you’ve already sent keep working. If your organisation reaches its member limit, you can’t invite anyone else until you upgrade or remove someone.
Is the limit per person or per organisation?
Per organisation. Members share the plan’s monthly secrets and its member count.
Changing plan
How do I upgrade?
The organisation’s owner upgrades from the Billing page in the app, which takes them to Stripe’s checkout. The new plan’s limits apply as soon as the payment goes through. Admins can see the plan and usage, but only the owner can change it.
How do I cancel or move to a lower plan?
The owner opens “Manage Billing” on the Billing page, which takes them to Stripe’s customer portal, and cancels there. The plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for, then the organisation moves to Free. Until that date, “Reactivate” on the Billing page undoes the cancellation.
To move from Professional to Standard rather than to Free, email support@shareshield.net.
What happens to secrets I’ve already sent if we downgrade or cancel?
Nothing. Limits are checked when a secret is created, so links you’ve already sent keep the expiry and view count they were created with, and file secrets already sent can still be downloaded until they expire. New secrets follow the new plan’s limits.
Paying
What happens if a payment fails?
The organisation is marked as past due and the owner sees a “Payment overdue” notice with a link to update the card. While it’s past due, your plan’s limits stay in place, but sending file secrets and exporting the audit log are paused, and people can’t answer your requests with a file. Once payment goes through, they work again. If Stripe finally cancels the subscription, the organisation moves to Free.
Which currency do you charge in?
US dollars, paid by card through Stripe.
Can we pay annually?
Not at the moment. Each paid plan has a single monthly price. For anything the self-serve plans don’t cover, email us.
What does Enterprise include, and how is it priced?
Unlimited secrets and members, links up to 90 days and 100 views, files up to 25 MB, and dedicated support with a 4h response target. We set it up for you and price it on your team’s size and needs. Email us and tell us roughly how many people will use it.
More than 20 people, or limits Professional can’t meet
Enterprise removes the caps on secrets and members, allows links of up to 90 days and files of up to 25 MB, and comes with dedicated support. Email us with your team size and what you need, and we’ll come back with a price.
